Students toured the New York Stock Exchange, Goldman, Sachs and Co., and Merrill Lynch.

Twelve Auburn University College of Business graduate and undergraduate students toured the financial district of New York City during the university’s recent Spring Break.

Dubbed “Tigers on Wall Street,” students had the opportunity to watch and interact with financial professionals at work from a variety of firms, experience the rush of the New York Stock Exchange, network with a number of professionals, receive career advice and meet with a handful of Auburn alumni.

“The trip was very educational for the students,” said Frank Oprandy, Director of Graduate Career Services at the College of Business’ Office of Professional and Career Development, who orchestrated and led the event for the third-consecutive year. “The students get a feeling for investment banking and other areas of the financial industry, as well as life on Wall Street. Students were able to meet with individuals in the profession and get a sense for what it is really like to be in those roles.”

Students had the opportunity to visit investment firms Merrill Lynch and Goldman Sachs, the corporate headquarters for financial media giant Bloomberg, the NYSE, and the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency.

Graduate students making the trip included Suning Zhu, Wanyi Huang, Poojita Puligundla, Yu Gao, Matthew Humphry, Nam Tran, Fujun Huang, Ruwei Zhao.
