Plans move forward for Graduate School of Business building

Future plans for a Harbert College of Business “campus” include a new concourse and a Graduate School of Business building.

Auburn University’s proposed Graduate School of Business building came a little bit closer to fruition when the Board of Trustees recently authorized a search for an architect to bring the project to life.

The project is made possible in part by the $40 million gift made by alumnus Raymond J. Harbert in 2013.

“Mr. Harbert’s gift generated incredible momentum for our college,” Harbert College of Business Dean and Wells Fargo Professor Bill Hardgrave said. “In the next few years, as we put the Harbert gift to work and continue to generate support from other stakeholders, we expect to create at least three research centers and to substantially increase the number of Ph.D. students. Additionally, our current masters programs – in particular, our Executive MBA and Physician’s MBA – are constrained by our existing facilities. We need room to grow and space that will enable us to better serve our on-campus and online students.

“A Graduate School of Business building represents an important component in our quest to become one of the nation’s top public colleges of business.”
